蒙田的随笔《尽情享受生活之乐趣》
However, if one reads too much,
the interest will eventually wane and one's health may be damaged.
Since happiness and health are our most precious possessions,
we should put aside books when they start to harm us.
Some people believe that what one gains from books does not make up for what one loses,
and I agree with this view.
People who have been feeling unwell for a long time have to follow the doctor's orders
and design a certain lifestyle for themselves and not exceed its limits.
The same is true for those who retire from society.
They have lost interest in social life and even feel disgusted with it,
so they have to design their secluded life according to reason,
think carefully and arrange it according to their own opinions.
They should get rid of all forms of toil and trouble and free themselves
from worldly desires that hinder the peace of body and mind,
and choose the life path that best suits their temperament.
