The bar chart above illustrates changes
of college students'different choices after graduation in 2013 and 2018.
The percentage of those choosing to hunt for a job declined from 68.1%to 60.7%,
with a decrease of approximately 7.5%.
On the contrary,the figure of students who selected to pursue further study
showed a significantly rising trend,from 26.3%to 34.0%.
Although the proportion of those choosing to start a new business
crept up slightly with around 1.3% from 1.3%in 2013 to 2.6%in 2018,
it still remained the least.
There are diverse factors contributing to the above trend.
In the first place,most companies have raised their education threshold for graduates,
which poses a great pressure on those
who tend to hunt a satisfying job with merely a bachelor's degree.
Secondly,the government has been encouraging college students
to engage in innovative activities and increasing investment to help start-ups,
providing graduates with a more enabling environment to start their own business.
However,granted that China is in its starting stage of innovation,
it takes time for the figure to reach remarkably high.
To sum up,there are diverse elements behind driving college students
to make different choices after graduation.
It is reasonable to predict that more students will choose to pursue further study
or start their own business in the forthcoming years.
However,no matter what they choose,
only through unremitting efforts can they reach their goals
