Some cultures like to encourage children saying that anything can be achieved if
they try hard enough
. Saying so to children may make them unrealistic in making life decisions
in the future, but it can also
cultivate confidence and passion in them.
The disadvantage of telling children that they can achieve
anything as long as they work hard enough
is that they may become unrealistic in life. They could get too fixated in
something they are not good at and still believe that one day miracles
would happen and dreams would come true. Success is not just about hard
work, no matter how important hard work is. It is also about talent and is sometimes
